Perez, thanks SO much for posting this. After having Lupus for 3 years I am finally working to get off my meds and get healthy through a strict vegan diet. It's working so far and I take my next round of testing in Feb so wish me luck! I love that this organization talks about curing rather than living with Lupus - it's the kind of rhetoric we need to encourage us to try and be really healthy instead of just accepting that we're going to feel like shit everyday. It doesn't have to be that way! I'm changing the way I feel and all you other Lupus patients can too! I found a lot of inspiration through a book called the Lupus Recovery Diet - give it a read; it's very encouraging and it might just change your life and the way you think about autoimmune diseases. Much love to you, perezito! You are looking fiercely hot as per usual - keep up the good work!
Springchikun - join the club! I was diagnosed with Lupus at the age of 22 and have also never been the same. I'm so glad to see that this cause has been given voice via one of my most all-time favorite websites and pretty much the only blog I read. Lupus is still this really ambiguous disease, but you don't hear a lot about it so it's easy to forget that there are people out there trying to find a cure, amidst all the cancer and other more well-known diseases that get a lot more attention. Love you, Perezito! Thanks for posting that, bbs! Amy Austin, TX
K, Perez I just made a donation in your name to vote no on 8 - I live in Texas so I can't vote, but I'm happy to do what I can to support equal rights for ALL couples. Thanks for championing equality through your site and good luck defeating Prop 8!
