okay i agree that MJ would not be a good role model for black youth, or a spokes person for african american issues. but doesnt the personal resentment that mj had for the color of his skin say something?? this is a man who was so up set to be african american that he literally changed the color of his skin and his nose. to me that speaks of the huge issues black people face growing up in america. they are taught both directly and indirectly that to be black is not as good as it is to be white. that is the issue here. and we need to really think about that. maybe the black community is understanding of this, and that is why he is being appreciated as an african american artist.
