I got married in Playa Del Carmen Mexico in April of 2007 and it was a very easy process. The only requirement was that i was in mexico for 48 hours prior, had four witnessess with me and took blood tests at least 24 hours before the ceremony. It is possible they legally got married. It is not this huge process you seem to make it out to be.
