"dying or something"? haha, i love your medical terminology. You don't move someone if there's been an accident of some sort, such as automobile or a fall of some sort, just in case there's been a neck injury. As far as I have been trained, you DO move the patient to a hard surface, most likely the floor, when you do CPR. You can't get good enough compressions on a softer surface.
