I met her last Tuesday at Sting Ray's in Tybee. She's very nice. I wouldn't think she was different from any other 16 year-old girl... she's handled all the media pressure a lot better than I would have at her age.
WIC is a wonderful program. Please don't categorize it as welfare. It's a supplemental program that MOST pregnant mothers and mothers with new babies get. My husband makes VERY good money and we qualified for it when I was pregnant and after our baby was born. It's a program that is supported by the Department of Health. It isn't welfare. **If you are pregnant please don't hesitate to apply for WIC!**
I've lost my shit when one of my kids went missing once. She was in the backyard hiding in her playhouse. One time, my kid hid in a rack at the store and we spent 30 minutes looking for her. I freaked out thinking someone took her. It only takes a minute to lose sight of them. When she was saying she would kill herself, it was probably because she felt that if he wasn't found she would want to die. If anything, this shows that she needs assistance caring for the kids, but it isn't proof that she isn't a good mother. Believe me, I'm not a fan of hers and she sickens me but, she is a concerned mother who obviously cares for her kids.
