Of course physical violence isn't the answer. But using your reasoning, is it then okay for a husband to point at his wife's cellulite and call her a fugly bitch or a fat, ugly whore? To verbally ridicule someone day in and out as long as there is no actual skin to skin contact? Verbal attacks ARE a form of violence, and that is what you have done to people every day for years. There is no excuse not to consider brutal, inflammatory words as a form of violence just like an actual attack.
