Many films implicitly give a pass to pedophilia and rape, and some actors have disconnected any sentient response to those abuses. They are numb so they see Polanski, a part of their club, being held responsible for thsoe things as unfair. . I have to laugh every time I see the term "Pro life". The truth is that group is "Pro Birth". After babies are born, then I notice most of them turn a blind eye. When the "Pro birth" crowd starts taking care of the kids living at sub-poverty levels, and those with with severe physical and mental disabilities, then shows some regard for the Life of the women whose wombs they want to control, and helps support birth control then they will have some credibility.
