on Boycott Sundance at 18:38 11/16/2008This boycott is a HUGE mistake Perez, please reconsider your stance on this! The fact that prop 8 passed sickens me. But, we need to be careful how we fight this and not cut off our noses to spite our faces. The Sundance Film Festival is probably one of the few places in Utah that gives the LGBT community a stage to showcase their work and their community. To threaten that with a boycott is detrimental to the human rights movement. Let's fight this fight by educating those who voted Yes to 8, let's not go after those who give the LGBT community a stage to get their message out! Especially in UT! The LGBT community needs a welcoming stage in UT to showcase their work! Let's focus on Education and getting the message out! Educating the masses who voted yes is the best weapon we have right now.
