on A Worthwhile Cause at 00:06 09/19/2008Thank you for your support, Perez. I will speak for any Houstonians (that haven't posted at least) and thank you for this post. Many of those who truly need this assistnace cannot access a computer to thank themselves. Many of us were greatly humbled by the devastation -- in North Houston we all learned that money can only buy so much when there is nothing. I am lucky by comparison as I still have a roof over my head and the capability to drive for gas and ice. I have lived in Houston for just over a year and I will say that I have never seen a community unite in such a way in the wake of such disaster. Before FEMA or any other government or private aid arrived, communities were banding together and providing for others where able (i.e.: food, ice, tree removal, medication, etc). I hope that this assistance goes to those communities that have nothing to give. Please keep those areas in your thoughts. Those of us with food, ice and a roof over our head need not complain about losing TV or A/C for a week or two. We're six weeks out from electricity and I'm still here for the ride!
