Lastly, the pictures Miley took, don’t make her a bad person, calling a fifteen year old girl a “slut” and making up nicknames like “slutty cyrus” is in my opinion worse - particularly when it‘s coming from middle-aged parents that should know better! All kids Miley’s age take pictures like this - most get up to a lot worse! I never knew the internet was filled with such prudes - she’s dressed in her bikini - not exactly scandalous, What‘s next? Parents blind-fold their kids when they’re off to the beach?
Miley has made a few mistakes but I think that if young kids today have to look up to someone - Miley isn’t a bad candidate - she’s successful, talented, healthy and the fact she’s made mistakes only makes her more relatable and thus, likeable. A sixteen year old friend used to hate Miley, but since the Vanity fair scandal and the release of pictures like this her opinion has changed:-
- “It just proves she’s human and like everyone else makes mistakes. To me, she’s a nice alternative to the perfect, sugar-coated teen stars”
Likewise, if you do look up to celebrities, and who doesn’t to some extent? Miley really isn’t the worst role model out there. Sure, she’s taken some pictures in her underwear but who hasn’t? “Good girl” Disney stars like Selena Gomez may be as sweet as they look, but for all we know she might be taking similar pictures on her phone (it’s happened before, think Vanessa Hudgens!) - the only difference is that Miley’s pictures were leaked onto the internet. I believe that’s misfortune - not sluttiness!
