It doesn't matter what your occupation is, he was absolutely out of line. And if he's such a "comedian", this just proves he doesn't understand what material to use. It was in no way funny. She is 16 years old. Grow up. Billy Ray has every right to be upset, any father would.
First of all... saying "Oh this is pointless, everyone is bullied" doesn't make it okay. Second of all... this book did not have the intention of reaching an audience of creepy 30 something males who sit online all day. Clearly the pre-teens, tweens, and teens have an infatuation with Miley and her life. This is to feed the curiosity but to also give hope and inspiration. This is just a passage that you chose from the book but if you read the whole thing- which I doubt any of you did- than you would have a good reason to comment. Anyway, the bullying thing wasn't written so that Miles could be like "Oh wow look at me, feel sorry for me"- but to show the people out there right now that ARE having a similar problem that THEY are not alone... no matter how alone they may feel. By being honest about her past she is giving them comfort and allowing them to relate to her and see that if "Miley Cyrus" (that i'm sure is a hero to a great deal of them) can get through it, than so can I. And Perez i'm sure if this was someone that you actually liked, like Katy Perry or someone, than you would have a completely different reaction. Which is just sad. You are an insecure, pathetic bully and the fact that you call teenagers twats and sluts is despicable.
Unlike some people- believe it or not- Kristen Stewart doesn't give a care about fame, paparazzi, or money. She just has a deep love, and raw talent, for acting and entertaining. This is something that should be celebrated in this day and age. Instead of analyzing every word she says in a negative way, why don't you try seeing all the positive things she brings to the table. If she was the opposite, photographed at clubs and all over Hollywood, you would all STILL be just as critical. Before you scorn and point fingers why don't you take a look at yourselves because I doubt what you'll see back is perfection. No one is perfect. And Perez, it's a little hypocritical that you put up links to all these great causes and speak against wrongful things in the world, but then go do that recognition injustice by zeroing in on POINTLESS things. You say that physical abuse against women is never okay, well don't you see that the things you say about people-- that IS abuse. Maybe not physical, but emotional and mental and it's heartbreaking. You are a bully. YOU bring hate to this world. And even worse.... you inspire other people to bring that same exact hate. I pray that you someday realize this and start doing things in the world that actually matter.
