AN OPEN LETTER TO EVERY PERSON WHO VOTED YES ON FLA AMENDMENT 2
If you think this is over, you are sadly mistaken. What you have done is create an actual issue which can be taken to the Federal Supreme Court. You have voted to limit my civil rights, rights which were granted to me by my County Government (Thanks Miami-Dade). If you think we are going to let you nullify our domestic partnership agreements with this hateful amendment then are deluded. The day will come when bigotry and discrimination will no longer have a place in our government. Until then, game on assholes.
In my experience, when people have used "that's so gay" to connote a negative sentiment, I have promptly responded "how gay is it?"- which usually is followed up with a look of bewilderment. The truth is that many people don't think about the words they use until they are called out on it. America needs to go back to grammar school.
