Free the WM3. I have done a lot of research on the case and I have spent a tiny amount of time in West Memphis... If what I encountered in 2008 is in anyway similar to what Echols, Misskelley, and Baldwin experienced in this horrible witch hunt, they have even more of my respect and sympathy. The looks I noticed and the comments I overheard showed me just how behind this area is; it's truly sad. I can't stand Natalie Maines as an artist, but as a strong woman who stands up for her opinions, she has my respect for that. Before anyone else trashes her for standing up for this, please do a bit of research and see her comments to have merit. If nothing else, hopefully she is bringing more attention and donations to the WM3 Defense Fund. FREE THE WM3!
A band I know opened for AIC on their '06 tour and were all HUGE AIC fans, so they were skeptical seeing the new guy, and came away with a lot of respect for him and what he does with AIC. Yes, Layne was a HUGE part of AIC, but give the new guy a shot. Besides, do you really think this guy believes he could ever replace Layne? For that matter, would Layne want them to quit because he's gone? Even Layne's mom says he wouldn't and she is beyond thrilled about this. Side note for the AIC fans, the 7th Annual Layne Staley Tribute show was held recently and was broadcast online. It is archived on synclive.com and can be found under the Highest Rated section on the front page of the site. :)
I have lived in all parts of Ohio. I lived in Columbus for several years and it's by far my favourite part of Ohio. I have read the Bible, am very familiar with all the mumbo jumbo the evangelical "Christians" (I use the term loosely) espouse to further their agendas, because let's face it, that's all it is anymore, an agenda. I am an agnostic. Blacklick is a small town in the suburbs of Columbus, and as stated many times, Cols., is home to the second largest gay population in the country. My times in Columbus, and especially with my gay friends, are some of the best I've ever had. I have a good friend in a national act band who will tell anyone who listens that he LOVES Cols. for it's open-minded, "chill" vibe. This sign is reprehensible. I saw today it was covered in pro-homosexuality graffiti. Yes, there are better ways to get gay acceptance across, but I have to admit, I smiled like a fool and thought to myself, "Nicely done." I don't like the song, but I've read interviews where Perry says the song is not advocating homosexuality. Before anyone, for any cause, resorts to using fear to try to persuade others to adopt their ideals and views, perhaps they should consider that the fear will only push those who are capable of thinking for themselves even further away. Is it any wonder the Church is losing members in droves?
I rarely watch WWE anymore, but SOOO glad I did last night. That schpiel that mentioned you Perez, OMG, funniest/most entertaining part of the night! I would totally watch if you do a guest spot and WWE would make huge bank off of that, so it makes perfect sense!
Back to the party in NYC on the 24th, I SO wish I could be there; that would be the perfect way to celebrate my birthday!
