Orator, I am a minority and so is my daughter who goes to school in a 50/50 Black and Latino school. They ALL know Taylor Swift. You don't have to be just a "white" girl. Consequently, all us older parents know of Taylor because of our kids. Taylor also has so far, the best selling album of '09. I don't think its due to JUST white girls between the ages of 8-16.
And it's was widely reported by many people backstage that it was Matthew Knowles who acted quick with the spin control and staged the part where Beyonce allowed Taylor to have her "moment". Otherwise she would have gone up there and accepted that award without a second thought to Taylor.

She doesn't sound diplomatic at all. It really didn't end up being a great night for Taylor and for many people actually since the rest of the night felt awkward and uncomfortable after that display. But i do agree with her that its a good thing that she didnt have to make a speech, because she is terrible at public speaking. She is not articulate at all.
Kandi is my favorite on the show. She is stable and grounded, and independent. She started out in the group Xscape and went on to write alot of the blockbuster singles you heard out in the late 90's and today. Even though she broke off the engagement with AJ (he really wasn't right for her) I'm sure she still held alot of love for him in her heart. His kids are who I really feel sorry for. I think he was their main financial support. So much so that Kandi had to adopt his twin girls because their mother was either unfit or abandoned them and Kandi felt the girlls needed a positive mother-figure to raise them.
Aww touching. My heart goes out to the little girl. However I refuse to kiss any celebs ass when they do stuff like this because so many celebs lately have an agenda and every step and move in their careers are so contrived and planned by their handlers and PR people to get their artists more publicity, it's kind of disheartening. Matthew Knowles knows exactly how to strike a chord.But this moment is about that beautiful child. Its nice that lil girl got her wish granted and I pray she doesn't suffer. She is an angel.
