on R.I.P. at 22:31 03/26/2009What makes this so upsetting is that the majority of people being laid off are mid-level salaried individuals who have worked very hard to get to where they are and were not given much warning. These weren't your overpaid executives or your "lazyass, disgruntled workers" as someone so eloquently stated above. I spent over 5 years working for the company in Orlando and getting to those mid salary positions is not an easy task. You certainly have to put in your time seeing as how they like to promote from within. The people who were able to work their way into those mid-level management positions were dedicated individuals. The majority of them had been there anywhere from 5-20 years. As with anything there are politics associated. And yes, in the grand scheme of things it is a relatively small number when you look at the bigger picture. It's just sad to see so many quality people who have devoted so much time and passion be let go due to an economic downturn. Unfortunately, given the way things are currently, it's unavoidable.
