"Yeah, why does Japan have the HIGHEST rate of smoking and the LOWEST rate of lung cancer?" Where are you getting your facts? This simply is not true.
I work in smoking cessation support, and when graphic warnings were introduced in New Zealand earlier this year, I experienced first hand the increase in smokers making the CHOICE to quit. Nobody was forcing them to, but the images personalised the very real effects of smoking, in a way that is harder to ignore that numbers and statistics.
These images are hard to look at but do save lives.
