Re: Obama412[/re] Which would include you. You seem to be right up in there at the top of the ignorant list. Why should someone, such as my father, a hard working small business owner who is nearly 50 and still works 12-16 hour days, sometimes 7 days a week, be penalized for doing what he needs to do for his family? He's working to make sure that his kids and grandkids are taken care of should anything happen to him and he's working to ensure that he will be able to retire before he works himself to death. Personally, I feel that those who sit at home and live off welfare because they choose not to work should not receive anything from anyone. If you contribute nothing to our society, why should you receive anything in return?
It really saddens me to see people say they've never been proud to be an American until now. Regardless of who our president is, I have always been proud to be an American, to have the freedom to make my own decisions and not be controlled by the government, Yes, its true that Obama wants to bring change to our country, but it remains to be seen whether this change will be good or bad. I truly, truly HOPE that Obama makes the RIGHT decisions for our country. At this point, that's all we can do...HOPE for the best, PREPARE for the worst...Because face it, things will get worse before they can get better.
And BTW, I find it mighty hypocritical that the very same people who cry racism in regards to this election are the same people who voted against gay rights. Had Obama not been elected, I'm sure it would have been a public outrage and cries of racism would be heard everywhere, yet these same people still choose to discriminate against gays. It's extremely sad.
