Beard or not, Penn is plain U.G.L.Y. He's just lucky Blake is using him to hide the fact that Blake and Leighton are really together. :) Poor Blake, having to endure being in the presence of him just to hide her true love.

I'm not just saying this cause I can't stand Penn but because it's obvious... he is a complete and total beard, literally and figuratively. You could tell they are just dating for the show, when CLEARLY, when Blake and Leighton were on TRL she denied the relationship completely. She even looks at the camera making sure it was being caught. I mean honestly? Everyone knows Blake and Leighton are the ones that are dating, Penn is just a PR stunt. Bleighton 4ever
