The United Kingdom is a union of four constituent countries - England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales - The Republic of Ireland is not part of the United Kingdom. And trust me - Scots do not consider themselves English - they consider themselves Scottish.

The Brits always want everyone to think that the Irish and the Scots drink more than them. Not true - My mother is English and my dad is Irish. The English side of the family have always been heavier drinkers, and I've witnessed both cultures to this end as well. The English invented gin, after all . . . Nothing bad about being a drinker - just own up to it England! Embrace your inner lush! Another little English drinking tidbit - A few years ago at the World Cup in Germany there were many reports about the English drinking Germany dry - the stats were crazy. The Mirror had an article about it. Germany actually warned that beer could run out before the final!
