It's understandable that you think that Americans should adopt americans - there's just one problem with that: in America, there are approximately 100 families wanting to adopt each "available" child. There are plenty of needy children in America but none of them are actually up for adoption because their selfish birth parents won't do what's best for the child. The international adoption process is extremely difficult, we tried through Russia and Romania for five years before giving up. It is so heartbreaking to see all those children in orphanges and know that the government won't let them have a better life. Asia is better set up for adoption. Katherine obviously did her research. Please stop telling americans to adopt locally - it is a virtually impossible task. It would also be unwise for a celeb couple to adopt from an american birth mother - look at the fiasco that the birth mother caused for tom cruise and nicole kidman.
