on There's Good News and Bad News at 08:38 06/28/2008Perez, I have never commented on your site before, but I do feel that your criticism of Amy's performance is a little unreasonable. As with live performances by many artists, it can often be disappointing for the fans when the performance strays a lot from the studio recording, but that's the nature of live performances, and is what Amy has always done when singing live, even when sober! She was relatively tuneful, had made at least a decent effort with her appearance (tanned instead of pasty, relatively tasteful clothing), didn't mumble incoherently to the crowd, appeared relatively sober and even threw in some questionable dance moves! Regardless, her rendition of 'Free Nelson Mandela' was fantastic. I think celebrities and artists are fair game for criticism if their performance is pathetic, but... what an immense success considering she's just been released from hospital with traces of emphysema! Good for her, a step in the right direction.
