1. If you want to get at the Mormons then why not make Sundance this year a big gay classy gathering in Park City and stuff what they hate right in their face? Have a protest party in their backyard. Get entertainers, speakers, sponsorship... etc. Draw positive attention to your cause without having a temper tantrum. The Mormon's don't care if Sundance isn't there because of the gays---that doesn't hurt them.
2. Robert Redford, who backs the festival, is probably the most liberal person in Hollywood.
Also, telling people not to support Sundance doesn't help promote gay equality. It disrespects and hurts the artistic community and the struggling, dedicated filmmakers who have put their heart & soul into making something they've believed in for a very long time. So you see, you are hurting creative artists and villifying gays by making them responsible. Mormons may live in the state of Utah, but they barely make up the population of Park City… sheesh. A film festival doesn't benefit them and it's a ridiculous notion to think so. Perez, Please thoroughly think through calls for civic action as well as making political commentary before brazenly and foolishly making such posts. You can avoid portraying yourself as a buffoon.
Perez, how about developing a little integrity and reporting the FACTS? Chinese Democracy is getting many, many, many GREAT reviews across the board and even from such respected sources such as Rolling Stone and Spin.
That said, rock n' roll may not be your taste, because hey, it's no Mika lollipop or Jonas Brothers teenage baby music---and isn't supposed to be, never was, never will be. Disrespectful and inaccurate reporting of news and gossip will only tank you and this website.
