Perez, do you really think that everyone here is happy about this? Sucks is a petty word that doesn’t even begin to describe our situation. It seems like House does what it wants despite the fact there are gay, lesbian, bi and transgendered people here that deserve the same rights as everyone else. Many of us feel that the House & the news stations here pulled a fast one on us “for lack of a better term, sorry”. Hardly anyone knew this was being voted on because they concentrated so much on the flood coverage which was happening at the same time. There is almost no separation of church & state here & maybe the wrong people hold the reins of our state government. But please don’t judge our state on the acts of a small group of people.
I love these people trying to palm that odious state off as being anything other than a redneck wasteland. Only two states have fewer residents than North Dakota — and there is a reason for that. Whether or not a state is an odious redneck wasteland does not mean it doesn't deserve better. I'm assuming you looked up North Dakota's raking in population? If the state is so below you, why would you go out of your way to comment on it? You just want attention.
I do believe that some people think abortion is the next best thing to birth control, but not everyone. I don't believe I'd ever have an abortion, but then again I've never been in that situation. There are more than just the girls who are raped and the ones who are careless. The situations might be more complicated than we could imagine. Therefore a law should take into account these situations. This topic is too complicated for such a black and white law and such a divided group of people.
This is fucking ridiculous! This law intends to mandate that all fertilized eggs have the same rights as a full grown human upon conception! They're not even babies yet! Even if you are pro life/anti choice, what about the rights of rape victims? What about a woman's right to choose? The world is already over populated and we need to take care of the rights of the people already living in it and suffering. You want to give full rights to a couple of cells forming in a woman's uterus? Fine, but how about you give some of those rights to every other living thing on the planet? It would be less hypocritical that way.
