i don't think the divorce rate is high because people don't together before marriage.. i think it's high because divorce is now legal, when before it wasn't. So now that it's an option, people choose the easy way out rather than putting in hard work into making the marriage work. And that's what a marriage is: hard work. I think the media has glamorized relationships too much, and when people first start to see signs of trouble, they run they other way instead of working at it...especially if their reality is incongruous with their "ideal"
if a man rapes a woman, we're lucky if he gets probation let alone a few months in jail. But if he steals a bunch of money, he gets 6 years???
It really shows where our priorities are in society and what we consider to have the most value...
