When I first heard the title, I wondered if this New Kid On The Block had covered the Sobule version (a gorgeous, sweet song about genuine exploration of one's sexuality), but then heard the Perry version (a smutty, exploitative and fairly brainless tune with a film clip designed to get boys off). I'm not saying Perry isn't talented - she has a good voice and charisma coming out the wazoo - so someone decided to take her down a few pegs. GASP! Life's not all ass-kissing. Us normal people get insulted in the real world everyday. Deal with it. And Perez! Shame on you! Do your homework! She was on the Clueless soundtrack for crying out loud!
I did actually wonder if some people would go this far - we've all seen how intense some of his fans are. But it's absolutely right that MJ wouldn't want to meet some of his fans THAT soon, regardless of how devoted they are. This is a terrible, terrible tragedy - why make it more tragic than it has to be? Let's stick together, turn the volume up nd just dance it out, people. xoxo
I was actually thinking of her. How gutwrenching it must be to be in the unique position of both daughter and ex-wife to two of the world's (let alone music's) most earth-shattering losses. Her sentiments are articulated beautifully and no doubt echoed by fans and critics alike. While my heart goes out to his family and friends, it also went out to her in particular, as for her this is not only a devastating blow, but a double whammy. RIP to both the Kings.
