A lot of Americans wouldn't even know Tintin, so the budget is too high for this film. It's not like Tintin is a Disney character. It would probably work in Europe, but there was a recent controversy about some of the old Tintin comments and racism, and to make Tintin 100% politically correct wouldn't work. Stephen Spielberg adaptations are terrible anyway...look at what he did to War of the Worlds. Who'd he cast to play Tintin? His boyfriend Tom Cruise?

Peta is just another excuse for things like racism. Instead of being racist, people pick on other things like clothes, food preferences, body types and so on. I don't mind fur and the only reason why I don't wear it is due to the climate of my location, there is no need to wear it, but to pressure designers is idiotic, not to mention fascist. What will come next? Dictating what artists can paint or sculpt?
