You shouldn't be DISGUSTED with another Christian because their interpretation of the Bible is different than yours. How blessed are you that you're not gay? You don't have to deal with feelings of self-hate or loneliness. You are free to live your life and get married. There are people who were brought up in church, love the Lord, but only have romantic feelings towards the same-sex. They know that society will never accept them, they feel trapped and sometimes suicidal. There are others that choose to be brave and live their life openly gay, which isn't easy either. Regardless of how you feel about people who are gay, as a Christian you should care about their well-being and happiness.
Churches will NOT be sued if they don't agree with gay marriage and schools will NOT teach students about gay marriage. I can't even recall marriage being discussed at all when I was in school. The topic never came up, and I don't see how it would be relevant. The opposition to gay marriage is from prejudice.
One of the most common arguments against gay marriage is that: we might as well allow people to marry relatives, polygamy, marrying animals, or an adult to marry someone who is underage. There are laws against these things, there's an age of consent and the others are also illegal. Marriage provides stability and encourages monogamy. Even though I live in Georgia, to those in California, please vote NO on Prop 8.
