Wow! The fact that there are people who buy her books and agree with her BS is what really worries me.
I don't understand why Republicans don't disavow her. She's idiotic, inarticulate, and factually inaccurate. There are tons of smart Republicans like Giuliani and Bloomberg (though he had enough sense to leave the party) who aren't anything like the Sarah Palins and the Ann Coulters and The G.W Bushes of the world. These wackjob evangelical idiots are starting to bore me. Yawn.
ummm, actually, "black" is hardly offensive. "white" people are not technically white, but i don't know any white people that insist they be called "caucasian" or "ango-saxon" or anything more "proper." The term "African-American" is not even something that all black people identify with. I know many people whose families come form Haiti and other islands in th Caribbean. Maybe their roots eventually trace back to Africa, but they don't identify with the term "African-American" because they consider themselves "Caribbean-Americans."
There's NOTHING wrong with using the terms "black" and "white." yes, they are colloquial but HARDLY offensive.
"colored" was once considered the appropriate and polite term to describe anyone who wasn't white. Now, it's considered offensive. However, "person of color" is considered the most PC phrase to describe any minority group. If Lindsay confused the two terms, that's fine. A lot of white people are terrified to talk about minority groups because they don't know what's considered PC and people don't want to be deemed racist or insensitive. I HATE LL more than anything, but I hope people don't jump all over her for this too much.
People afraid of being called racist or ignorant that it hampers our ability to have open and enlightening conversations about race.
Perez, you should have just pointed out that the terminology "colored" is considered by many to be offensive. But then again, simply correcting LL's mistake wouldn't be juicy, would it? Let's condemn her as an ignorant racist instead!
Just by looking at the picture, it's pretty clear she has scoloiosis..and the curvature is likely located in the upper vertebrae, judging by the way she's slouching.
As someone else mentioned, standing up straight probably feels VERY unnatural and "forced" for Katie. I have a very slight case of scoliosis and find myself slouching constantly unless making a deliberate effort not to.
The only real way to fix the problem is through core-strengthening exercises. People with scoliosis tend to have VERY weak stomach muscles, which exacerbates the problem. Yoga/Pilates are helpful...
Perez, be a little more sensitive to peoples' medical conditions. Scoliosis isn't fun. It can cause a lot of back pain...

Those scratches could be an irritation from bracelets/watch that was too tight, although they're weirdly shaped.
