I love Heroes. The second season was lame and they have ruined some of the main characters who have become very stupid. But in this season the show is getting much better again and they are even improving the characters who had become so bad in the last few episodes. I believe with DVRs you have to pay a monthly fee (some cable companies include dvr service but not ours), but worse you can't record the show and take the recordings somewhere else to watch it. This is a problem for me. I tape shows and watch them with my sister and her kids later, including Heros. My sister's husband is anti-TV unless it's one of the shows he likes. (We don't do it behind his back, but we can enjoy the shows more if we watch when he's not there. They aren't getting a DVR.) I also tape some shows for my elderly parents who aren't tech savvy and I mail or take the tapes when I visit. A vcr is cheaper. I use a dvd player to watch films and shows, but as I don't record stuff to keep forever I don't use a recordable one. (I got netflix and canceled a large part of my cable service to save money. I'm not paying to use a dvr every month.)
If they had to kick the Kardashians and their friend off the beach to get the paps attention for the models, then apparently the photogs think they can get more dough selling pics of the former, no? Personally I don't care either way being a straight woman, so not into t&A. But the paps shoot what they know sells. I'm over decrying the publics following no talent "celebs" who are only known for being clever at getting publicity and maybe getting some boring reality show. (I can't imagine why someone would watch a show following around nonenties, but whatever. I like my reality shows to have competitions and voting people off and stuff if I bother to watch one. But that's just me.)
Don't expect any bargains on the stores that have going out of business sales. Consumerist dot com reported that they hired a liquidation firm that is notorious for raising the (pretend) before prices skyhigh and charging more for the so-called sale price than the stores they liquidate ever did before the sales. Plus they bring in a lot of junk from out side the stores. You can't return anything including stuff that doesn't work (and stuff that turns out to be bricks in the boxes). So you have no guarantees and higher prices. People will buy a lot of stuff thinking they are getting a bargain anyway just because they see the liquidation sale signs, but it's all a scam.
Just because it comes directly from her people doesn't mean it's the truth. The fact that his last girlfriend had less money than Madonna doesn't make him a golddigger, most women have less money than Madonna. He wasn't just sitting around living off her money, he was pursuing his own career. Golddiggers don't do that. I think this is all about the kids, she doesn't want to share their son.
Madonna has been a striver all her life. She wouldn't be a hugely successful pop star if it wasn't for her genius at grabbing at every opportunity. She was far from the best singer of her generation but she was probably among the most savvy and certainly the most willing to exploit every opportunity and being as provocative as she possibly could. Why shouldn't her brother who has so little money in comparison to her make a bit off his life story, even if it's only interesting because he's her bother? She dropped him after her marriage, which isn't an act of sisterly love. Why should he be held to a standard she ignores? It doesn't sound like he came up with anything shocking or horrible. No one was surprised by anything he said. I plan to get a copy someday.
