Let's start the clock on how long it will take Perez to start bashing Obama over the economy, the way he bashed Bush. I am guessing it will be a while....
Kicking the problem out is more effective. Corruption and ineffective government in Mexico is the problem -- and the United States can't fix that. By legalizing illegals, you just keep the flood gates open and encourage more people to make a run for the border. Hispanics love to tell us to "fix the problem at the source" because they love the idea of increasing their political power by expanding their population in the US, no matter what the means -- a very unAmerican concept.
Perez, I think you are asking a legitimate question. One one hand, Steele is a very good speaker and would represent the party well in the public arena. He is also not from the south, unlike his nearest oppenent, Katon Dawson. The GOP is worried about the south being perceived as a southern regional party. Dawson is very well-liked in the party and is a proven leader in strategy and logistics, so from a practical sense, he might have been the better choice. And, voters don't elect Presidents and Members of Congress based on who leads the party. On the other hand, the timing does smack of the party wanting to prove it is inclusive. And, Steele seems to represent that.
The coat is cute. Her dress was cute (though not appropriate for the weather). But those hooker boots are certainly not appropriate for the wife of the VP. Please see the Bush family for how to properly dress for an inaugural event.
