I think that these comments shouldn't be about a "who started what". You are already in the situation. The issue now is how to deal with it in a constructive and honest way. I don't think using $1 trillion dollars without permission (if it was their own money, I wouldn't complain ;) but it isn't) is pretty underhanded. Whether or not the democrats started this apparent mess, you should be looking at who is taking the best approach at fixing it up. Shit happens all the time. The only way you really know what people are like is to see how they deal with crises.
