Well i am glad to see more then just the "we gots ta save da baby sealz!!11!!!" comments i expected. This is not a straight forward issue. Yes, the hunt is painful to watch and much could be done to make their methods more humane. However, when you take away the seal hunt whole towns and villages lose their entire way of life. They lose the only way they have to put food on the table for their children. The other side of the that is what seals do to the fish (particularily the cod) population. we are losing fish from all of the oceans at an alarming rate and they are much more engangered then these seals are. I understand that fish do not pull at the hear strings the way a big eyed, fluffy white seal does but they are just as inportant to our eco system. Also, as someone said already, it is not the babies they are killing. I truly love animals, in fact i am a vegetarian , but we need to try to stop jumping to immediate decisions based on the pull to our heart strings. Do a little research and make a an educated decision. If you still feel the seal hunt is wrong, that is absolutely your right. I just ak that it is an informed decision you are making.
