on Kelly Covers Miley - And Does It Better! at 12:13 09/19/2009Wow... I hate the original song because Miley literally has the whiniest and screechiest voice I have EVER EVER heard and it is nice to hear the song sung by people with talent and finesse. Miley, you don't always have to sing beyond your range.. it sounds terrible, but then again I have no clue if you have any real talent.

on Wino's Return To The Stage! at 21:00 08/23/2009I disagree. I thought she did quite well. They had her mic turned too low and I don't think she and the Specials practiced much beforehand, since it seemed a bit uncomfortable. However, if you focus on her voice, you can hear that it was quite good and her high notes were particularly strong. I would like to see her do like 2 songs on her own to really see if she is back to pre-coke strength. She seemed extremely coherent and completely sober. I have never seen her looking so alert, like even pre-drug, shy Amy was low energy. Go Amy Go!!

on Perez Hilton Presents... at 17:23 08/11/2009The Beaumont Club is a pretty nice venue in KC so it's a good fit for this show! The tickets are already showing up on Ticketmaster and, even if they aren't for sale yet, they are only $16.50 a pop! Also, I saw who else is playing that venue for this show (that has not been announced yet)... and may I say HOT?! Perez should send a message to Tina Chen since she lives near there and she should so make an appearance!

on Katie Trained For A Year To Do That?! at 02:46 07/26/2009I think some of you are giving her too much credit, and others too little. Apparently, none of you watch SNL since when she appeared on the show in the late 90s, during Dawson's Creek, she had a (tap) dance-off with Will Ferrell. He obviously wasn't doing anything but she was doing some decent tapping. So she has experience, not serious professional experience, but the amount any girl who takes dance lessons for a while does. Not to say someone with no dance experience wouldn't be interested in the charity, but a charity creator would definitely know the benefits of dance and have a love of it. I thought what she did was good but shame on Tyce for not challenging her. Maybe she wanted an easy routine so that she would appear more skilled rather than show the rough edges to her actual dancing. PS.. Judy Garland was a good dancer... see Easter Parade, Summerstock (where this dance came from, other portions of the movie have her actually dancing), For Me and My Gal, Babes of Broadway... basically every musical she made aside from Wizard of Oz. Child stars back then had to be versatile.. especially when they were discovered as young as Judy was.

on Internet Sensation Susan Boyle Returns To Britain's Got Talent - and UNDERWHELMS! at 18:22 05/24/2009I never much cared for Susan Boyle. It's like she became famous because people were so shocked that a plain woman has some singing ability. Yes, average/unattractive people have talent too! If she had been a younger, more attractive woman with that voice, she would not have even made it past her initial audition, and no one would have seen her on tv or heard her. I don't much care for her overpowering vibrato. As far as this performance goes, the song choice was TERRIBLE for her. Memory is one of my favorite songs from a musical so I have nothing against the song. It just didn't suit her voice. Most Andrew Lloyd Webber songs require a large range from the singer and unfortunately, Susan Boyle doesn't have that range. She was having trouble with both the low and high notes. You could tell from the first phrase, how ill-suited the song was for her. Good for Susan Boyle for bringing some attention to the less-attractive but unfortunately, I don't think she will really break through.
