Aretha's obviously not aesthetically pleasing to a lot of you, but that's not the the real problem. That extra weight has to be killing her voice, she can't breathe as deep to sing properly. That doesn't lessen her past achievements. She is the Queen of Soul, there is no doubt about it, but as for her behavior about this...Queen should be replaced with DIVA.

Tina is correct, there isn't only one Queen. Tina is an amazing talent, and commanding performer. She is truly a Queen, herself.

Thank god there are SOME people smart enough to say Wanda Jackson (and The Stooges). Do you know who Wanda Jackson IS? She's been making music for DECADES and is still going at it in her 70's! She toured with Elvis Presley for chrissakes! She is THE go-to female rockabilly singer.

Though someone did make a good point about KISS not being inducted yet...and that's just lame. They ARE rock n roll.

I hope to God that the NY Times sues him for slander. They would be well within their rights to do so. It's such a pathetic dig for the McCain camp to make. If you didn't make such shitty decisions there wouldn't be anything to cover. Sarah Palin is a journalist's wet dream. Obama, by contrast, doesn't have anything nearly as juicy. That doesn't make them blue, it makes them opportunistic. They ARE journalists, for Christ's sakes.

It makes me laugh to hear everyone call their own nation the best. Any country you go to feels that way about themselves. It's just Americans who have the arrogance to proclaim it so loudly.
I can understand wanting to be a fiscal Republican, too. But really? Do you still have a leg to stand on? Under the Bush regime we've spent how much on the war? We now pay how much for gas? For groceries? The unemployment rate is what?
And as for people who say Perez is being so hard on Palin and her family, and not being equally so to the Democrats...have you read anything he's written on John Edwards?? Not so nice, actually.
If you are calling for Perez's head, saying he is not being fair, perhaps you should realize that your political affiliation is what is making you feel attacked...and you're projecting on Perez.
My first choice wasn't Obama either, but I'll be damned if I'll let there be another 4-8 years of that. It's time for a REGIME CHANGE!!
