I agree that minorities need to be protected. However, I wouldn't stop there. Everyone needs to be protected. No one should be judged by the color of their skin, including white people. Rather, people should be judged by the content of their character- to paraphrase Dr. King. Discrimination is wrong when it is directed against any person, male or female, black, white, brown, yellow, purple or green.
I am concerned about her ruling that failed to protect equal rights. However, as a moment in history I am proud of my country and the appointment of a latina to the Supreme Court. I hope she will do more to protect equal rights than she does harm.
