Well, goodness knows if everyone who chose to participate in a reality/talent show had to pass a mental fitness test, the shows would shut down. I'm surprised that organizations are looking into whether the show is to blame: There are 3 year olds who sing on idol and do just fine. Where does one draw the line on fitness for such contests? Would it have been discriminatory to have NOT let Susan Boyle participate? Of course it would have. She's being taken care of right now, and she will be stronger for it, and she won't live with the regrets of wondering if she 'could have won'. Good going, Susan! You TRIED. ...and it looks like you're going to get your dream of being a professional singer. Get healthy, and go for it!
Before we call the pope to nominate him for sainthood... It ought to be pointed out that until he was royally shamed in a newspaper article for not donating to charities, Bill Gates refused to give away a dime. Don't let him fool you; he does it for the press, not from the heart. He's in no position to shame anyone. However, regardless of his egotistical intentions, his money is finally doing some good... But he is hardly in a position to shame others. Now Warren Buffett on the other hand: heart in the right place... YUM!!! Philanthropy is...... SEXY!!!
