I know this post is basically dead, so my comment is likely a waste of time. However, 'Smirks', and anyone else who is interested, you might be interested to know that one of McCain's campaign tricks is to have his staffers ghost-write fictional, over-the-top letters to editors, and having citizens in the area in various battleground states sign them. Staffers/citizens (it is a collaboration) are told to 'make up whatever you want, as long as it adds to the campaign'. Bush used this tactic in past campaigns. This is known as 'earned media', or faking the media. Fortunately California is already a blue state. So why should we worry about some idiotic printed material in a city newspaper? Who cares, really. I did think this information was worth sharing, however, with those of you who think everything you read is true. lol!
I think most people don't know this, but the McCain campaign is paying people to write stuff like that in/to newspapers. I'm betting somebody's pocket's got lined in exchange for writing that garbage. Talk me down if you want, but that's honestly what I think happened here.
