Any "idiot" who has read all of the Harry Potter novels can easily see the resemblance (regardless of whether it renders a legal fight), isn't Harry Potter the one who ultimately saves England, and indirectly, the world, by defeating Voldemort??? It's said many times that if V comes back into power he would have all the non-wizarding humans extinguised? (Much like Hitler, Stalin, etc. etc.) So, I'd say Harry Potter definitely saves the world, like the Indian filmmakers are saying Hari Putar does. So what, his name means something that implies the movie is "different", it's still the same gist. Both are placed in England. Couldn't they have thought of a different name, location, plot ending??? Come ON, everyone knows the story of Harry Potter, and why else would you name your film that, knowing at the very least that acusations would fly and people would definitely assume you are making some sort of copy or spoof? If you just call it what it is, if they said "we're making a HP spoof" it would have been accepted, look how many movies get spoofed every year by movies like Scary Movie and [the aptly named] Disaster Movie? I don't necessarily agree that there should be a fight over it, but why hide what you're doing? Be real, be true to what you want to do. If you want to create the spoof, just say so.
Dear Perez, I love you. Seriously. I think you're amazing. Keep up the good work. But, I have to say, I think you're really mean to this poor girl! She's not even really unfortunate looking!! She's quite unique, different looking, and that's not necessarily bad. And you never hear about her getting into trouble! If I were her, I would have awful self-esteem after reading all the gossip pages making fun of me, especially using mean names like potato head. I mean, come on Perez, I know you're better than that! I think I know your personality at least well enough that you care about empowering people who deserve to be empowered. If this chick was pulling DUIs all the time, I'd say keep at it, but she seems like a good kid just trying to make it in a shitty world where everything is based on looks. I'm definitely guilty of making fun of the uglies, but I don't have the power that you have. I would cry every day if I were Rumer and heard all the shit people say about her. It makes me sad that you, the best of the best, are putting her down like this still :'-(
