He DOES look the part...SPOILER ALERT for those who haven't read the book:

Royce King II was Rosalie's fiancee, and one night him and his friends got drunk and raped Rosalie. Carlisle found her abandoned and dying on the snowy street and so he turned her into a vampire to save her life. Rosalie then became a newborn vampire and purposely hunted down and murdered Royce and his friends...it was hilarious how she did it too! Carlisle had also hoped she would become a mate for Edward, but Edward didn't want her, lol.
