I hate to say it as I enjoy her music, but her theatrics are getting old. The novelty is wearing off. You know what would make a great performance? Her, a piano, no wigs, no costumes...and her voice. She is so focused on making art and being perceived as a strong woman, that she is cold. There is no warmth or depth to her. She is a cartoon, one dimensional. I suppose one day she will grow up, as Madonna eventually did, and show a little vulnerability. She is starting to bore me. Sad, as I enjoy her music.

I loved it- her voice is very retro sounding, much like Amy and Duffy, but you can tell it's authentic. It's her real singing voice. Very cool. Perez, i'm surprised you're not more enthusiastic- if think if she weren't who she is that you'd be all over her music- it's good.

Your blog has been my guilty pleasure for years, but as much as I enjoy it, even I cringe sometimes at some of the mean things that you say. Do I think you deserved to get hit -absolutely not. Do I think it's ok that you used that nasty slur-absolutely not. Two wrongs don't make a right. I sincerely hope that you you think a little harder about the feelings of the people that you write about and the words that you use when you "report" your gossip. I admit that I enjoy a little gossip, but I don't enjoy mean spirited name calling and put downs about people's looks and things like that. I like you, Perez. I'm sorry you were hit. Turn it into something positive. Learn. Peace.
