on Kathy Griffin's Suing Mad at 17:07 09/28/2008Perez provided readers with the link to his source, which clearly states that the owners of the KathyGriffin.com domain have changed the content of the website. Anyone with half a brain can deduce that the change was made after suit was filed. Why? Well because the owners of Trafficz.com are being sued for violating a federal statue. The Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act, 15 U.S.C.A. ยง 1125. The statute protects companies and the individual from having others profit off of their name, so if you create a page that the reasonable person (a legal standard) would look at and be confused at to whether the site is affiliated with that person or product then you are in violation of this statute. Also the statute allows for any available civil remedies, which includes injunctions, monetary awards, and other equitable remedies. plus for all of those people who always freak out over what they perceive as a frivolous suit, every single law is obligated under the federal rules of civil procedure rule 11 and state and local rules not to file a suit that does not have a basis in the law or they face sanctions up to disbarment, so before you comment educate yourself on the topic so you do not cast yourself in the light of a moron and you points carry more weight and likelihood of actually persuading someone
