I feel these kinds of comments from the parents of six kids are totally irresponsible. Alot of their comments speak of their time together now and have a fatalistic attitude towards their future. I believe that if you are going to have such a large family then a) the kids need to feel secure without thinking, 'hmmm, wonder if Mummy and Daddy are going to break up this year' and b) fight to keep it together as your first priority. Sadly half of all families do break up - it's a reality of life, but I think commitment phobic attitudes and comments could speed things along nicely... ;(
I found the book incredibly interesting. Created a real insight to the life and mind of one of our most enduring and successful icons - I felt bad for both him and Madonna - I thought he had some major issues to deal with and could read between the lines when he was fairly unreasonable regarding some of his resentment against Madonna. One things for sure, tough to handle all the money and excess. Book made me a bigger Madonna fan after picking it up for a trashy holiday read. There, I blah blahed. lol
