he would write revisions of many old folk/coutry artists i.e. hank williams, woody guthrie, hank snow, johnny cash, etc.like somebody else said, it's a common folk tradition to do so. nobody talks shit about the byrds' "turn, turn, turn" which is a complete rip off of pete seeger, who completely stole it from the bible. it's common. he's not plagiarizing by any means.

well, the great thing about rock and roll is that you don't have to have a beautiful, melodic voice to be effective. he was purposely trying to sound like a survivor of the gold rush (aka WOODY GUTHRIE or HANK WILLIAMS) if you would have listened to nashville skyline or the basement tapes, you'd hear his "real" voice. he's not a pop idol. he's a folk/rock legend. he never once tried to convince anybody he was a pop idol. you want to hear a pretty voice from that era, go listen to some motown.

yeah, well if you knew ANYTHING about bob dylan, you'd know he started writing by writing revisions of hank williams songs. hank williams was his hero. how about you at least watch 'no direction home' and become educated on bob dylan and THEN talk shit about him.

to the person who said bob dylan became 'religious,' actually, he's not. he did become a born again christian during the 80's but refrained from his religious values since then. you should probably follow suit and watch 'no direction home.'
