on Calling Him Out! at 12:38 06/16/2009Perez I'm gay and realize that Obama has a lot of other really important issues to deal with right now, North Korea, Iran, Iraq, the economy/jobs, healthcare, etc. I find the gay issues topic important, but the other things that are going on in our country and world right now. As a gay guy i've have never felt discriminated against. That's because I'm openly gay, and don't make a big deal about it and put it in everyones face! One huge problem with the gay community in terms of media is that what straight people see is dragqueens, will and grace, the show "next" on mtv where all the guys are overly gay, etc. The gay community never show the "non gay" things in their life, and so the people at home get a distorted view of what it means to be gay. As if going out, partying, wearing bright colors, or being loud and bitchy are the only ways gay guys live. Yes it's a problem that people don't accept gay people and marriage, but I think the gay community, meaning the gay organizations have to do a better job at showing non gay people what it means to be gay. Which for a lot of gay people don't involve "gay" things in our every day lives. Then in return, the non gay people will really see many similarities between both groups and eventually accept them, and also accept the differences.

on Dumb Bitch Reacts To Being Fired at 10:56 06/11/2009I'm gay and it's extremely obvious that she was fired because of the whole gay marriage comment. I'm an atheist and I support gay marriage, and just because someone has a different opinion on gay marriage than me, doesn't mean that I hate them, or think that they're stupid. It just means that they are someone who agrees to disagree on a certain issue. That's it. I think that there are people in certain groups such as gays, african americans, or latinos, asians, etc. who categorize themself as only being in that one group and nothing else. And when someone doesn't get you or understand your culture or disagrees with that one apsect of your life that you only categorize yourself as, then in response the person who is not understood hates them in return, or bashes the other person, rather than trying to understand the opposite point of view or educate them. And just because someone may not get you, doesn't mean that you can't get along. I think Ms. California doesn't hate gay people at all. I think with her religious beliefs, she just doesn't support gay marriage, which is fine. I don't understand why it's ok for Perez to hate people who don't look perfect, completely bash them on a regular basis, but it's not ok for Ms. California to oppose gay marriage.
