If we believe in equality and freedom of speech, if we want to be leaders and have a future sense of solidarity in this country, we MUST respect the beliefs of others.
I am afraid I am disappointed by the reaction of so many including Perez regarding Ms. California's "mishap." While I support gay marriage and I disagree with her comments, I am shocked that no one has any respect for someone who has stood up for their beliefs, was honest and thought provoking. What is wrong with that? If you (Perez, whomever) want someone to respect your ideas, why do you have such little respect for hers? What is wrong with standing up for your beliefs? Isn't that what the LGBT community has done for so many years and continues to do? She isn't full of hate. She says she has no problems with being gay. But, she thinks differently then you Perez and you BLAST her...what a shame...what a damn shame because while I don't know you, I read your blog and I never thought you'd attack someone who thought differently than you...isn't diversity what this country is about? Isn't diversity what the LGBT community is about? I'm appalled.
As for the ignorant comments on here, I am not even going to respond. People come in all different sizes shapes and colors. Rob Whitey attacks Miss Cali for being blonde, ditzy? Stupid? HAH. How ironic. He seems mad about her comments but yet attacks the way she looks, promoting stupid blonde stero-types?
