on Cuba, Here We Come! at 17:14 04/13/2009 as a reply on the comment by CleopatraYou're Canadian. You are not treated like a native Cuban when you are in Cuba.. Native Cubans can't go to certain beaches because they are just for tourists. They can't enter certain hotels unless they work there. I have no doubt that as a Canadian promoting travel to Cuba you were treated as royalty. The Cuban government is not stupid. They want foreigners to have a great time and spread the word to invest money into their dying economy. Too bad it's the native Cubans who suffer and don't reap the rewards.

on Cuba, Here We Come! at 15:56 04/13/2009 as a reply on the comment by CleopatraI don't deny that the education in Cuba is free, but it is full of propaganda and sets up Fidel/Raul as saviors. You don't exactly get to voice your opinion against the government during this "free" education. As for their health care, the services may be free but you have to bring your supplies and linens because the government does such a bang-up job of taking care of its people. By the way, all these facts are straight from my relatives living there. What about yours?

on Cuba, Here We Come! at 14:21 04/13/2009I hope you feel good about putting more money in the Cuban government's pocket because that is where the majority of it will go. The Cuban people will never prosper because of their government. The rest of the world already trades Cuba and the people are still poor. This won't help a thing.

on It's On! at 18:22 09/24/2008I'd rather have both of them working on the real problems of the country instead of a debate where each will just stick to their talking points and repeat themselves. Maybe funnel some of their campaign money to the American public as well.
