To everyone else the people of Detroit and Michigan are just numbers on paper. To those of us actually living through this, the situation has been terrible for awhile and only now are people starting to look our way. The auto execs screwed up BIG time, but that's no reason to let those of us who live in the area, with no means of leaving, suffer with it. The money is a loan and if they are willing to hand out billions to wall street, they can lend some to an industry that is integral to the backbone of america! We might just be numbers on a piece of paper to those looking from the outside of the situation, but we are real people suffering from this and few people seem to realize this. The bail out is imperative to the survival of Detroiters and Michiganders during this dark time.
