If my understanding of all of this is correct, the DDoS attack that this guy is being taken to court for happened back in January and Anonymous has stopped doing this sort of thing entirely. I hope that everyone involved has the sense to take the punishment coming for any illegal activities, no matter now noble the intentions may have been, and the rest of Anonymous keeps up the good, legal fight we've seen from February onward.
I've spoken to these anonymous kids, and you all seem to have them wrong. For the most part, they're loud but thoughtful kids who've spent a lot of time researching the dangerous cult that is Scientology. They talk alot about doing things "for the lulz" (whatever that means) but in the end every single one I've spoken to has a real concern for the people inside.
Katie is free to believe whatever she wants, and anonymous isn't trying to change anyone's beliefs. What they ARE saying is that the immoral practices of the church should be shut down (like forcing women to have abortions and having 12 year olds sign billion year contracts to serve the church). Like any cult, Scientology has made it very difficult for people to leave once they're in, and I think it's great that they're showing Katie that she DOES have support outside of the Church whenever she finally opens her eyes.
