This time I gave too much credit to you thinking that maybe you put someone's comments that would be insightful. Unfortunately, all Miss NV did was reiterate what I've been saying. ' "First, how could this young woman NOT know her audience and judges? Let's not forget that the person asking the question is an openly gay man, at least 2 people on the judges panel are openly gay. Another judge has a sister in a gay marriage. Her very own state pageant director, KEITH LEWIS is an openly gay man who has been a very generous benefactor of hers…in many ways." ' So Miss NV, are you trying to say the contestants should lie and try to answer what the people judging & directing might want to hear. So basically you guys keep reiterating this point and it makes me think Miss USA contestants are a bunch of liars that are programmed to answer according to the judging panel.
It is a hot topic but doesn't mean there is an one sided correct answer. What Miss Vermont was trying to say was that we know what the judges want to hear especially when a gay judge asks about gay marriage so why was Miss California stupid enough to keep to her morals and not give the answer that Perez wanted to hear? ' Really wish you'd drop this topic soon because it makes me give less respect to you and your site. You keep posting how many people think you're right but if you look at the comments, doesn't seem like the majority agrees with you. ' They should pick judges that won't sit there and be biased about the replies but to see how articulate the answer is and to see if it really does represent the US (pro gay marriages does not represent the majority of the US or California).
Perez I usually like you/your staff's comments, but in the article below about Miss USA where you wrote:
You can't alienate your audience, especially if you're competing for the title of MISS USA! You need to represent the people, not just YOUR beliefs.
That is an incredibly stupid comment. Are you saying everyone in the USA has your beliefs? And that Miss CA who doesn't believe in gay marriages (whether that is right in your eyes or not) shouldn't represent the part of the US that is anti-gay marriage. I think there's a reason why California, a huge democratic state, didn't pass Prop 8, which also shows the majority of your own state doesn't believe in the same thing you do so how can you bring up representing "the people" when your state's votes are telling you that you are not the majority.
