AMEN! She is so right. I want someone to look me IN THE EYE, in person, and tell my girlfriend and I both that we don't deserve the same rights as everyone else. We WILL get our rights.
YES! Thank you, GOD! OH, GOD! Thank you SO, SO, SO MUCH! My girlfriend and I will be able to get married SO soon now! Oh, god... I'm crying. This is AMAZING! CHANGE IS HERE; IT'S NOW.

It DOES count. That isn't what I was saying. I was saying that no matter what happens (what they vote for), there will not be any immediate reaction/solution. Things may be temporarily stabilized, PERHAPS, but this is going to take months (or, more appropriately, years) to fix. Their votes count; however, they also have a duty to us voters by telling us what they are going to do to keep whatever is passed/decided on for this situation. This debate is what they both need, regardless of anyone's voting persuasion. They need to multitask: vote on their choice, then come to us and tell us how/what/when/why they are going to further that choice and all of the other details. They can do both, and they should. No debate should be "canceled." That's unnecessary, when, as a president, multitasking is absolutely key.
Can't McCain multi-task? Seriously. That's like saying you can't talk on the phone and sweep the floor at the same time. It can be done; and, more important, should be, in this case. It just seems as though McCain is postponing the inevitable. Let the rest of Washington figure this out. Two Senators (particularly two who are presently campaigning to be president?) is seriously not much of a loss. Besides, God forbid the man become president, he should be able to multi-task.
I am more proud than ever to be an American.
Change is on the horizon.
Debate. Don't wimp out. There is no excuse.
